The Animal Lily is named after the actress Ava Gardner. MGM promoted her as "The World's Most Beautiful Animal" and the purple and subtle greens growl with the dark mystery of a panther in the shadows. Green-eyed brunette Ava Gardner was the essence of female Americana. Born on a tobacco farm, where she got her lifelong love of earthy language and going barefoot, Ava grew up in the rural South. A tough broad Ava once said, "I don't mind growing old. If I have to go before my time, this is how I'll go-- cigarette in one hand, glass of scotch in the other."
