Ida's Blue Iris - Diva Collection

The strong blue and yellow in this single iris clip commands attention - just Like Ida Lupino did. Lupino was a film actress, director, and a pioneer in the field of women filmmakers. It has been said that no one could do hard-luck dames the way Lupino could do them. She played tough, knowing characters who held their own against some of the biggest leading men of the day. She was the self proclaimed "poor man's Bette Davis" and she directed Outrage in 1950 which tackled the extremely controversial subject (at that time) of rape. She also directed The Hitch-Hiker, the first film noir directed by a woman. One tough cookie, Ida rocks the Blue Iris.
