"Lady Day" Gardenia -Diva Collection

This single gardenia is a show stopper just like the Lady Day - Billie Holiday. As a human being she was sweet, sour, kind, mean, generous, profane, lovable and impossible. Billie Holiday was one of the greatest female jazz voices of all time. It was in Harlem in the early 1930's that she started singing for tips in various night clubs. In 1936 she was working with Lester Young, who gave her the now-famous nickname of "Lady Day." She was one of the first black women to work with a white orchestra, an impressive accomplishment at the time. Buy several and place them all over your fabulous coiffed do, just like Billie Holliday used to!
